Hi Katyzzz- Good question! There are a bunch of definitions for spit. I suppose the most common one is the verb form, defined as "to eject saliva from the mouth" (Oxford American Dictionary). It can also be to pierce with a sword. The noun form includes additional definitions, including a skewer, a spade-depth of earth, or a long, narrow underwater bank. Whew!
