Mystery writer Margaret Truman dies
Margaret Truman, the only daughter of President Harry S. Truman and Bess Truman, died January 29th, 2008 at the age of 83. She was living in an assisted-care facility at the time of her death.
Ms. Truman was originally a singer in the 1940s and 50s, but in her later years she became a prolific writer of mystery novels which were based in the Washington D.C. area. Her last novel , Murder on K Street, was published just last year
Some of her novels included Murder in the White House, Murder in the Library of Congress, and Murder in the Supreme Court. She also wrote several non-fiction books most notably biographies of both her mother and her father.
She is survived by her three sons.
I have always meant to read her mystery novels but have never gotten around to it. They have received quite good reviews so I may eventually read one or two.
